Christmas in the Canal

Dear Friends, Students, Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of The Canal Welcome Center (CWC) and its board of directors, I am proud to invite you to become a supporting member of this valuable and unique community resource. CWC, a non-profit organization based in San Rafael’s Canal Neighborhood, offers educational opportunities, arts and culture, economic development, and emergency response services. We also assist newcomers and low-income families to participate more fully in the broader civic life of the community. The center opens six days a week and serves more than 5,000 people annually.

Every year, our organization collects new toys and clothes to give and help those in needs as the holiday approaches. Thanks to your donations, we have benefited roughly 500 families every year. However, unemployment rate along with the number of needy families in our community have escalated due to the economy issues of the past few years. The holiday spirit cannot be ignored, especially Christmas when families come together to celebrate this warm-hearted day. While we luckily provide ourselves with food and presents, there still remain many unfortunate children everywhere and specially in our community. This year we are starting our toy drive early in the year and helping you plan in advance your donation. I am asking you to share the joy of Christmas with the Canal community by helping us provide warm clothes, preferably new, and/or toys for kids from age 2 to 12. In addition, we would gladly accept any other financial support so that The Canal Welcome Center can make this celebration possible for our Kids and families.

In order to fully appreciate your kindness and generosity, we will acknowledge each donation on our website and during the Christmas in the Canal celebration on December of this year. I will personally discuss with you about any possible donation. And remember, Your gifts towards CWC are fully tax-deductible!
